On Monday the 11th of December 2017 I went into to get my first colonoscopy and gastroscopy I was so scared for weeks prior to this day. I have always had bad stomach issues almost everything I eat I get a reaction to meaning my stomach will cramp up and cause me to go to the toilet. It’s frustrating because most of the time it’s actually pretty painful if your a mum then you know what child birth feels like well I can say for certain this is what it’s like for me like I’m giving birth over and over again.
I tried different diets and foods and nothing seemed right at this point I rather just stick to drinking liquids and shakes. I’m not lactose intolerant but I can’t tolerate dairy strange isn’t it? Most shakes I buy are organic or dairy free or just natural I still get a sore stomach most of the time anyway it’s ridiculous. I went and did a at home Bowel cancer test because I was worried it was Bowel cancer I waited for the results and to my surprise it came back positive for traces of blood,
I went to see a gastroenterologist and he booked me in for a colonoscopy straight away I was told to prep at least 3 days before the day to clean my body out I didn’t eat much for 3 days so it was easier to have the prep drinks. It was not easy to drink them as I just couldn’t stomach that much fluid the taste was fine but it made me feel really sick and tired. At first I thought they were not working just turned out they took a bit longer to go through my body.
I somehow managed to get through all the prep drinks and yes it most certainly does clean you out like a major detox I have fatty liver disease so my body was pretty toxic before I did the prep I also was drinking Pepsi everyday. I knew it wasn’t going to be easy or Plesent however I did what I had to do.
I went into to hospital for the colonoscopy I don’t remember a thing I just remember being scared and then saying they were giving me something to calm down then I woke up in another room. I felt absolutely nothing and I have no recollection of the event. I unfortunately am still in pain 2 days later cramps muscle pain and sore throat.
They removed a fair few polyps and took some biopsy’s I’m currently waiting the results for these
